“Courage”

Most folks associate courage with fear… but courage is more than that… it’s related to making decisions and taking actions when risk is near… Courage has a special spot in our brain… It sits in our Frontal Lobe in a region called the subgenual anterior cingulate cortex… and is activated with acts of courage… but silent when we surrender to fear or pain. Courage exists in many ways… Physical courage teams with bravery to accept potential harm during combative frays…. Social courage surfaces when decisions are truthful despite embarrassment and rejection at any cost… Intellectual courage RISES when we challenge groupthink ideas by being heard and not allowing our individuality to be lost

Moral courage is the compass we follow… and how we reveal ourselves in matching our actions with closely held values and ideals…. Emotional courage emerges when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable and experience every emotion hidden in a challenge regardless of the negative ones confrontation reveals… and spiritual courage inspires actions and commitment that bridge our position from seeing is believing… to a more faith based attitude of believing is seeing

When it comes to having courage… in doing what is right when facing risk or FEAR… It’s a Funny Feeling to know true courage appears when we don’t abandon integrity… and standup for what we hold most DEAR…
